Our investments into renewable energy technology, energy-efficient equipment and scheduled waste management systems are the forefront of our pursuits for environmental sustainability. Our main areas of interest on the environment include :
Emission Regulation
We constantly regulate and reduce our CO2 and VOC emissions. We lower our environmental impact by using energy efficient technology, buying Carbon Offset programme and choosing greener alternatives for our chemicals and equipment. We hope to achieve net zero carbon emissions in the future.
Green Circularity
We are adopting a green circular business model which we will apply into our material and waste management programs. Our business follows the 5R Principle of Materials Management: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Residual management. We are also investing in renewable energy sources to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
Forest Conservation
We work hard to be a part of the solution to regenerate and conserve forests that are essential to our future. All our paper based raw materials are sourced from sustainable sources which undergo strict regulation and compliance. We keep ourselves accountable through our internal management practices as well as assessments from accredited certification bodies.
Education & Training
We engage with our employees to ensure that they are on the same page to combat climate change. We introduce our hires to the inner workings of our environmental management systems and equip them with the skills to integrate and innovate greener solutions.
Social Wellbeing
We care about our employees. Their welfare, safety and health are of paramount importance to us. Our employees are insured and protected against financial loss, work-related injuries or illnesses not covered by general workers’ compensation. The company provides festive gatherings and annual dinners to foster a closer relationship within the company. We believe in a work-life balance and care for the overall well-being of our employees. Vivar have attained ISO 18001:2015 Occupational Health & Safety Management certification for more than a decade. We are committed to empowering our people with skills that can be utilized both in and out of the workplace. The Book Chain Project exists to help publishers and book printing companies make informed buying decisions by tracking manufacturing processes and building supply chains. The Project is based on several perspectives – forest sourcing, chemicals and materials, labor and environment.
