INTRODUCTION

Hardback

A hardback book is a book that has a rigid and durable cover made of chipboard. The cover is usually covered in cloth, paper, or leather, and is designed to protect the pages of the book from damage.

Flexibound

A flexibound book has a cover material is like that of a softcover book, but it is more durable and provides additional protection to the pages inside. The options for binding style for a flexibound book are like that of hardback.

Book block

In both types, the book blocks are cased into the cover via the same binding style. The book block can be prepared via two methods: Sewn or Glued

Swiss binding

Similar to lay-flat binding, the book can lay completely flat when opened to any page. However, in swiss binding, the book block is glued only to the backboard and not to the spine nor the front cover
